Oh - what a great day. 14 Oct 2018
Leah and I back in Amsterdam, and both wanted to say thank you to all of you for helping to make our wedding a special day.
We feel lucky that we could have 23 close friends and family with us for our surprise wedding, and you made the day all the more special for us. We could not have pulled off the surprise without the help of a few people who were in the “know”.
Rob - thank you helping us put structure and formality around the official part of the day. We had no idea what we had to do, and Rob generously applied for a special license to marry us, then wrote our outline, and left a blank section for the vows. It was perfect, thank you.
Paolo - our friend and cycling/wedding photographer. Paolo was adamant that he does not do wedding photos and Paolo’s first response was NO. It took a few leaf peeping photos, and the option of riding a bike every day to convince him. On the drive back to Boston, he commented that the riding we did were in his top 10 most scenic rides ever. Thank you buddy. He has two instagram accounts:

Vickie and Ken - a huge thank you to you. Without you, we could not have pulled this off. The surprise was orchestrated far in advance, and we needed a lot of help. Ken and Vickie manoeuvred and looked after my parents in Maine then brought them back to Etna in time for us to surprise them. Mum and Dad had other plans, but Ken and Vickie convinced them the traffic would be better if they travelled early on Sunday morning. Leaf peepers must get up early! Thank you also for saying yes when we asked if we could have our ceremony and surprise BBQ/wedding at your place. During my trip across in July we had dinner one night in the sun porch, and from this, with your help the idea of a BBQ and reception in the room was formed. It was perfect, thank you. Thanks also to Ken for leading me his Parlee bike so I could enjoy the Upper Valley foliage. Thank you.
I hope you enjoy Paolo’s photos. They are beautiful, and we both feel lucky he could be there with us.
Leah and I feel lucky to have spent the day with you, and look forward to getting back some stage next year. Until then, we have a visa to apply for and a move to Frankfurt to come, and many more adventures and great times after that.
Enjoy the photos:
